Central Valley Upholstery

Hanford’s Car Upholstery Shop — Since 1994

Torn seat. Sagging headliner. An interior that looks 20 years older than the car does. We fix that — and we’ve been the shop the Central Valley calls for it since 1994.

Every vehicle in our care is stored indoors overnight, whether the job takes an afternoon or three months. Your car doesn’t sit outside collecting dust while we work on it.

Full-Custom Car Upholstery Builds

If you want an interior nobody else has, here’s what’s on the table:

Full interior redesigns with custom stitching patterns
Laser-engraved leather panels and logos
Custom console fabrication
Frame-up interior restorations for street rods, classic cars, and lowriders
Lowrider Magazine feature article "Paid in Full" showcasing a custom green Chevrolet Impala interior by Central Valley Upholstery, October 2018
Lowrider Magazine spread detailing the green and white custom interior and stereo installation of a 1959 Chevrolet Impala by Central Valley Upholstery

We’re not saying that to sound impressive — Lowrider Magazine and national trucking and motorcycle outlets have featured our builds because the work holds up under that kind of attention. That’s the bar we build every interior to, whether the project’s going in a magazine or just back in your driveway.

Seat Repair & Recovering

Not every job needs to be a full custom build. Most of what we do every day is simpler than that:

  • Complete seat frame, spring, and webbing rebuilds
  • High-density foam replacement for sagging or worn cushions
  • Factory-style reupholstering using premium leather, vinyl, and cloth from trusted brands like Morbern, Enduratex, and Crossroads
  • Katzkin Leather conversions as an authorized dealer and installer

If your seats are worn out but the rest of the car’s fine, there’s no reason to pay for a full rebuild. We’ll tell you straight what it actually needs.

    FAQs

How long does custom car upholstery take?

Depending on the complexity of the design, custom console fabrication, and laser engraving details, a full custom interior build typically takes 2 weeks to 3 months. Simple repairs — a headliner, a single seat recover — are usually done a lot faster.

How much does car upholstery cost?

There’s no set price because no two interiors are the same — which is exactly why we do 5-10 minute in-person estimates instead of guessing over the phone. Can’t get in? Text or email us photos and we’ll give you a preliminary number.

Can I bring my own leather or fabric?

Yes. We’ll install what you bring, and our labor is still fully warrantied. The only thing that’s not covered is the material itself, since you sourced it, not us.
