What started as one family in a small shop in 1994 is now the shop dealerships, farms, and entire cities call first — and the pricing and craftsmanship haven’t changed one bit.

Our Story

We didn’t build this business on marketing. We built it on doing the work right, charging a fair price, and letting the finished product do the talking.

Since 1994, that’s carried us through thousands of jobs — award-winning street rods, show-quality lowriders, and the guy who just needs a torn seat fixed before the weekend. Same standard, every time.

We didn’t stay small because we couldn’t grow. We grew because word got around. Today that means a two-building facility where every vehicle is stored indoors overnight, room to take on bigger custom builds, and a full swatch showroom you can walk into today — not “email us for a catalog.”

A Family-Owned Team You Can Trust

This is still a family business — not a franchise, not a rebrand, not private equity wearing a local name. The same hand-stitching techniques passed down for decades, paired with modern tools like 3D scanning and laser engraving. A factory-style seat recover gets the same attention as a full custom console build. No “good enough for the price” tier.

That’s the reason customers don’t just come back — they bring us their next car, their friend’s car, and eventually their company’s whole fleet.

FAQs

How long does a complete custom car upholstery project take?

Depending on the complexity of the design, custom console fabrication, and laser engraving details, complete custom interior builds typically range from 2 weeks to 3 months. Faster repairs, like headliners or a single seat recover, are done in a fraction of that.

How do I get an estimate for my vehicle?

Walk into our Hanford shop and you’ll have a real number in 5-10 minutes. No appointment, no “we’ll call you back.” Can’t make it in? Text or email us photos and a description and we’ll get you a preliminary number.

Can I supply my own fabric or leather material?

Yes. Bring your own materials and we’ll install them — our labor is still fully warrantied either way. The one thing we can’t warranty is material you sourced yourself, since we didn’t pick it.

Does Central Valley Upholstery only work on cars?

Not at all. While custom automotive interiors are our specialty, we also handle upholstery for boats, RVs and travel trailers, and commercial and farm equipment. If it has a seat or a cushion, chances are we can help.

Is my vehicle safe while it's at your shop?

Yes. Our expanded two-building facility allows us to park every client vehicle securely indoors overnight, so your project is protected from the elements and safe from the moment you drop it off until it’s ready.
